1 Year Old!

My daughter turned 1 a week ago Monday Feb 21st. It's hard to believe how quickly one year has gone by. Every day is a new adventure, and I love watching her learn and grow.

It's funny how entering into motherhood while still in college introduced one of the most challenging times of my life, however during this challenging period, I would have to say that I have had more inspiration than ever before.

So here's to my beautiful little girl.

Crochet

Over the last month or so I have fallen in love with the art of crochet. It's a perfect end to my day... I have also found it to be extremely stress relieving. So I thought I'd share a photo that was crochet-driven/inspired.

It can also be found at my Crochet Blog

Portrait

Thought I'd share what I thought was a nice portrait of my husband. This week we were working with lighting placement, and this was my favorite of the set-ups that we had.

Roses are NOT always Red

In light of the recent holiday of love... I thought I'd post a photograph that I took for my 'Lighting' class. The set up is done purely in artificial light.

I didn't specifically shoot roses because of Valentines day being just around the corner, rather I have had this desire to shoot white/Ivory roses in order to gently capture all of the contours and delicate shadows that fall upon the beautiful leaves. There is something about the deep red of the red rose, but so much detail is lost in the depth of the color. The white rose reveals the delicate beauty of the curved petals that are intricately woven together.

Picture within a Picture

I thought I'd submit a couple photos from my final assignment that I completed for my photography class I took last semester. I have been holding on to these, because my intentions are to further the series, but just have not had the time as of yet.

My instructor was pretty amazing, she really helped direct me through the idea process as I was brainstorming. I realized that I began to really see the concept of the final series during my mid term, where I shot the various photos within photos that each told a different story about me. From there I kind of became engulfed with the picture, within a picture idea and spent most of the rest of my semester playing around with different versions of it. Two of the images below were submitted into the Academy's Spring show via my Instructor :) I was one of three selected in the class for such an honor.

Though I have stepped back this semester from this concept, I plan to further explore this. Hopefully I will find the time in the not too distant future.

Christmas Vacation

Robert's Mom visited over Christmas Vacation and I did a little photoshoot of Daniella and Grandma Zuni. This was the ONLY photography project that I managed to complete over break.
